Trip Advisor
Been trying to give some peeps the benefit of my vast knowledge on all things to do with travel. A person asked if there were any One Direction tributes acts in Tenerife and mentioned that they saw one in Benidorm last year. S'one else replied that they were none in Tenerife and that the one in Benidorm had split up. I replied "Its a pity the original group didn't do the same". Oneleg said "I heard them singing "Stand up", so I did, and promptly fell over" Trip Advisor have removed the posts as being inappropriate and going off topic. I think we should start our version of Trip Advisor. We could call it, "Shite Advice" or " TITS ( Travel Information that Totally Sucks)

Re: Trip Advisor
You'll see plenty of things in Benidorm that you'll not see anywhere else and it should stay that way
TA does in last year or so seem to have gone moderator mad, not sure who are the mods on the certain forums and how they get appointed but certainly now if a threa even strays slightly off topic or there's an attempt at humour that could even tenuously taken as aimed at someone then it's removed.
It all gone very serious as if there's been a company directive to serious up there forums

Re: Trip Advisor
I had 6 posts removed by 'The Community' on TA on 22nd, so I wrote to them and they were reinstated.
You need to look at what the removal notice says. If it is
TripAdvisor staff has removed this post because it did not meet TripAdvisor's forum guidelines with regards to .......
That means someone has reported your post direct to Tripadvisor Mods and they have decided it is inappropriate so you are wasting your time trying to get it put back.
Others say
This post was determined to be inappropriate by the TripAdvisor community and has been removed.
This means that a number of posters have got together and pressed inappropriate because it either is or in most cases a gang who don´t like someone contact each other, say click on post number and choose this reason. The posts are then automatically removed without TA Mods knowing anything about it unless the poster asks for them to be reinstated - as I did and mine were.
TA don´t say how many people it takes to automatically remove a post it has been suggested that the stronger the reason i.e. harassment will need less people to press than say Duplicate posting.
Forums don´t have specific moderators, these are all in the USA and work directly for TA and are nothing to do with the people who post on the forums even though some act as though they own the forums.
I did see Onelegs post and suggested he should have posted SAME MISTAKES and when a certain person comes on saying what has happened he should reply with NOBODY KNOWS or TELL ME A LIE as I don´t think they have yet recorded the LADY DOES PROTEST. TOO MUCH !!!
Of course the main protagonist may not appear on the lists that TA can see of how has pressed however it does not mean she is not the puppet master with a number of acolytes or have a number of accounts.
PS: Bet she is fuming when she reads this as I know she has in the past

Re: Trip Advisor
An American just asked, "What will the weather be like in September?" on the Ireland forum. Will I lie to him and tell him it will be raining or will I tell him the truth and that it will be pissing down??

You could say, "There will be shower or two but no rain but there could be some rain in between the showers" all angles covered

Re: Trip Advisor
Been contributing to Trip Advisor for a few weeks. It must be the greatest "stuck up your own arse" forum, I've ever come across, particularly the Ireland one. An American lady asked if car hire would be recommended for seeing the sights around the country. She got two replies from people that have made 1000's of comments. "First, we need to know where you are going". wankers. A simple yes or no. Another one got criticised for saying that she has a $150 a night budget. She got several snotty replies saying she should quote in euro. feckin' wankers. If I saw that it would put me right off visiting the country. I'm wondering how long I will get before I am banned!

True, there are so many reviews that you can see are either made by the competition or the friends/family of the place concerned that you have to take an overall view.
Although I go on TA a lot I never use it to review where I am considering going, I would rather speak to people I know who have similar tastes to myself.

Re: Trip Advisor
Another thing that gets on my wick. Why do people on Trip Advisor ask "I'm going to Tenerife in July. Whats the weather going to be like??" WTF??? Then you'll get the bit added on "I know you can't predict the weather but any info would be great". Well, if the weather can't be predicted, whats the feckin point in asking?? The one today was " I'm going to Los Cris in the morning. Whats the weather like?" Look it up on a weather forecast site you lazy bitch! It would take you less feckin time than typing in a post on TA to find out. I'm in one of those moods!

Re: Trip Advisor
Don´t really understand the above comment from Angus, I have just looked at the reviews of Lazy Daze and can´t see anyone who has only gone on to post one review of this establishment, they all seem to be people who have used TA a lot and done plenty of reviews so can´t be put down to family and friends.
