(NOT TRUE) but that ANY LICENCE ISSUED BEFORE 1/13 is not a EUROPEAN DRIVING LICENCE and needs replacing ....
TOTALLY UNTRUE ..you can use any DVLA issued licence UNTIL 2033...if is in date ...you dont need to add an NIE ,and you CAN keep the address as your last UK one ...
AND THEY HAVE AN EMAIL FROM DVLA STATING THIS ´´FACT´´

´´´´CLARIFICATION - DRIVING LICENCE
As there is so much controversy over this subject & we are always up to date on current legislation we decided to get further clarification, we wrote to the DVLA to get confirmation from the people in the "know". Here is the reply from the DVLA.
Thank you for your email received on 14/4/14. Your email reference number is 1928321.
Regarding your enquiry where you state that you wish to update your UK licence with a Spanish address, you would need to apply to exchange your licence to a Spanish one. This is due to the fact that we are not able to put a foreign address onto a UK licence. If your domicile is permanent in Spain, like in the UK, your documentation has to be up-to-date with the correct details. As in the UK if your documentation is not current you can be fined & this applies to Spain aswell.
As for the new Laws coming into force in 2015, these apply to all EU.
In the UK the old style non-photo Driving Licences are invalid thus invalid in EU. When travelling to non-EU countries you need to apply for a International Driving Licence.
Please enquire with the Spanish licensing authority on what you will need to do to exchange your UK licence.

A Rees
