I remeber eileen and myself were in the pub from 5:00pm to make sure of getting a seat. My brother died a few months before and I could swear he was guiding Utd to the treble from their last minute win over Liverpool in the FA cup in January to the famous "Giggs" goal against Arsenal in the semi final ( Schmeichal also saved a penalty in injury time). So sure was I that we were going to win the treble that I had 40 pound at 35/1 on Utd. 
My mate asked me at half time in the pub whether we would win ( 1-0 down at the time) and I said I was 100% certain. We got the equaliser in injury time and I went doolally . We got the winner 2 minutes later and I sat there crying. Thats when I let go of my brother.

That war saved Maggie's political career. Half the Spanish Armada went down around Irish coasts. I think the Spanish Arch area of Galway might have something to do with it. It was built around the same time.

Remember the United game. Going back to previous day, I had a call up for Falklands and was due to go five days after it ended, shame. I was not happy about going been out a couple of years. It must be terrible now with virtually no military or miltary back up, if you been in at any level in previous 15 years you muct always get call up papers when there is a conflict. My mates son got his for Iraq and he was a soldier been out 2 years worked out all the time, decided to flab up so he didn't have to go. Guys break legs the lot, you have to believe in the cause, not about fighting for your country. Second world war was fighting for Britain.

I'd been out 6 years but I was still in the reserves, I wasn't too bothered though as the regular army at that time was still pretty big.
