Good evening all. Think you must be getting confused with a different engine Minty, piece of piss this one. Got mighty confused with a fan belt for a Transit earlier this year though, very hard to work out, and original one bust so nowt to remember! Still waiting for new belts to arrive.........

What year of LT is it, plus petrol or diesel, was a few years back so I may be a bit out of date, I'm on about the six cylinder diesel where the diesel injector pump was driven by a second belt at the back of the engine...

Yep, thats the one. Belt goes round the camshaft sprocket straight down to the water pump, round the crankshaft, then up around an idler above and up to the camshaft again. Like a sock shape really. You adjust the water pump to take up any slack.

Its a 91. Same engine has been in them since 83. The Haynes book I have is for a petrol but the cambelts exactly the same. Seriously it must be one of the quickest to do. Header tank off, 3 10mm bolts, top cover off, 3 clips, bottom cover, 2 10mm bolts, loosen alternator bolts to remove fan belt, 3 13mm bolts to remove rubber fan shroud and 4 bolts to remove fan. All easily accessible too. If only all cars were that easy!

Yip year fits, think we had the head of it for a gasket job, sent head to be skimmed, went back to put it all together a day or so later and job came to a stop, as said we just couldn't work it out, I'm going back to mid eighths, reason job sticks out in my mind is because of the issue we had with the belt run...

If I remember I will take a photo of it in the morning. Basically it just follows the shape of the two covers. Checked the rear axle oil today, undone the filler plug and oil came out. Good! Some buggers been servicing it then.

Its All-Ireland hurling day and Galway are in the final. Kids all excited. We decided to have a clear run of the day so we had dinner this morning at half eight! The Lone Ranger wrote:Morning all. Sunday's meant to be a lie in Dermo!
