Finally finished all the body work on campervan. And Panda doors too. Ready for painting next. Farmer has cut wheat in field opposite as well so no corn flies now. Bright day with no wind would be nice, it wont fit in garage. I have my operation on Wednesday so not sure if that will affect my working performance but after that I have just 8 days until the first VW meet of 2016.
best of luck with op Vince.

Re: What are you doing today??
Back from funeral. Met my brother over from Isle of Man ( didn't know he was home). In the church there was a line of folk commiserating with the family. Spotted this guy in the middle of the family group who looked familiar. Turned out to be one of my brother's ( dead ) bandmates. I hadn't seen him since my brothers funeral 17 years ago!. He started telling the story of when the band was pulled over by the cops. We were chatting for a couple of minutes and then I realised I was holding everybody up who wanted to commiserate We had a good laugh though

Re: What are you doing today??
Yip, good luck Vince, at least they got the finger out in getting you sorted,,, just had my third pre-op today, and I'd bet my operation still don't happen, one hand of the NHS don't know what the other is doing, pre-op lasts three months then if operation has not been carried out you have to have another one,,, they have now cancelled my op twice stating they ain't happy with my blood test results and referring me back to my own doctor, my doc says there's nothing wrong with them to prevent operation,,, ping pong... Pre-op letter is obviously computer generated and.nobody has told the computer there's an argument going on, but if I don't go for pre-op letter says my referral is cancelled, so it's easier just to go for the pre-op than try and contact someone whose got the brains/authority to do something about it...

Re: What are you doing today??
I'm Well today Mathew our pool team moves to another new venue...
For those who have been around for a bit you may recall the pub I played pool for went tits up about two years back so we moved the team in to the pub next door, that pub already had a team in the league but each pub can carry two teams cos when ones playing at home the others away...
The pub we moved in to (the one we met in Dermo), is now taking a change of direction, group that own it (Punch Taverns) upped the costs to the current landlord so much he chucked it, it closed Sunday night, will be closed for six weeks for a refurbish then reopens with a manager not a landlord and the group who own the place who are now pulling the strings don't want a pull table,,, the pub had two teams in the Wednesday league and one in the Thursday league which brought in at least twenty punters on nights it would normally be dead...
Anyway we have had to move venue again but problem is were running out of pubs in the area with pool tables, so we've had to move in to the Snooker Club, it already has two teams in the league but it has two pool tables so can support four teams...
When I first started playing in the league some five years back there were 10 teams playing in 8 venues, now we are now down to 8 teams in 3 venues...
The Wednesday league we play in is a local one, all the pubs were a 10/15 minute walk from each other, the Thursday league is a all Manchester league so the lads who play in that have to travel miles, don't want that...
Thing is the original pub I played in, for some reason had allways been a bit of a meeting place for the lads in the league, not just Wednesday's, every night of the week so was busy all the time, only reason it went tits up was lad who had it lost the plot due to drugs and wasn't paying the bills, bunch who took it over gave it a cheap makeover put in some fancy beers at silly prices and got rid of the pool table, went tits up within about three months, nobody went in, it was then taken on by a local real ale brewery and given a decent make over, they also charge silly prices for shit beer and no pool table, it's busy weekends with the real ale mob but that's it, would seem if rumours be correct our place is going down the same route...
