Re: What are you doing today??
The shop in my village has not made a profit for probably 30 years and it closed yet again earlier this year. Now the imports from London want to start a community shop. What a bunch of tossers, Tossa de Mar is the place for these half wits. Been there, may have tarmacced the road by now Bill if youre lucky. Anyway, I digress, if they think any money is coming out of Parish Council coffers they will have me to deal with. Tescos, ASDA, Sainsburys and Acado all deliver here to Sticksville but perhaps theyve not noticed. Even the Post Office turns up in a van now.
My lawn mower packed up yesterday, fuel tank split. Luckily I had a spare tank so put that on. Cut half the grass and it stopped again. Had a look this morning and eventually stuck my finger in the plug holder while Patsy pulled the cord. No electric shock. Terminal then. This mower has been beat to hell by the way, exhaust fell off earlier this year and had to resort to buying ear defenders as couldnt fix that, so well time for a new one then. Looked on ebay and hey presto same make one but nice condition for £50 just local. Offered £40 and its mine. Off to pick it up on way to Skeggy.

My petrol mower is in the shed hibernating. I'm paying a man to cut my grass once a fortnight! When I retire, it'll come back out!

I'm getting fitter. I took the car for a wee run just to keep it ticking along. They don't like sitting doing nothing...

Re: What are you doing today??
Lawnmowers........ Now I can only afford cheap ones with 16" blades but they all come with Briggs and Stratton engines hence when the metal base rusted away and mower folded in half on one years back I dumped most of it but spirited away the carb with tank attatched in man cave. One I bought then, (brand new before ebay turned up) same size but yellow and Scottish with plastic base has done me for 10+ years and was well beat up. Thought this one I have just bought was exactly the same but no, the engine makes the wheels go round as well. Now instead of puhing it I have to run along behind. Anyway it works fine and looks quite low mileage and even had a full fuel tank. Grass now cut.

Lot of Mk1 Passat estates round my way now. Lithuanian ones. I had one once, 1600td, a fine machine.
Just drove past a field of pumpkins, waste of a good field. And brocolli, who the feck eats that?

Re: What are you doing today??
Passed MOT and got "advisory" on 2 rear tyres. Walls were perished. Apparently they are the same tyres as when the car was new. 62 plate. Well, that's not bad, 4 years and the tread is still OK! changed them both anyway as they both had wee nails in them as well. I wondered why I was always having to pump up the O/S rear! Gave it a service as well...£79:00. £25 for MOT and £73:00 for 2 x new tyres. £179 total. That should keep me going for a year!

Re: What are you doing today??
My last van had tyres 6 years old on it! MOT centre couldn't believe it. All they could do was advise me that they were 6 years old but as they were still in good order they could fail me on them
