watching McIlroy win the golf in America ( hope I didn't speak too soon). Then watch Ireland scrape a draw ( hopefully ) against Serbia.

I've no inclination ever to go there, or Croatia or Bosnia or any of those Balkan countries. Far too much hatred there for my liking. Wouldn't visit Turkey either

Feckers have guns as well. Might have been forced to give them a "bonus". I would have bottled it as well!

I went there when it was an Iron Curtain country. Very pretty but you couldnt get any meat except mince, or fish. They gave me fuel coupons at the border, half price or summat. Feck me, it was already cheap. Full of Germans at the beach. Naked. Ice cream was nice though.

Waiting on wee Brodie arriving. Peace and quiet just now, then all hell will break loose! He comes barging in ( he's only 21 months mind), "TV! Toys! Glasses! (He likes to play with my glasses for some reason. I think it's because he used the case for teething on! )

Re: What are you doing today??
spent the morning in the tax office again. Muppets overcharged me!! the girl on the desk actually said that the assessor couldn't possibly have missed what I said he/she did. She went to the trouble of actually getting my returns booklet brought to her desk. I said whoever did this skimmed through it and skipped the expense section in its entirety. Sure enough, there were my figures exactly where i said they would be. Its worth 1400 euro to me ffs!! Just to really annoy them, I got my car park ticket stamped by the lady and told her I was claiming that as an expense for next year. In fairness, she told me I was dead right to!

Janet enters all my stuff, All i have to do is drive out to my accountants mansion in the country and chat for 30 mins about anything but accounts
I usually take a nice car for him to glare at over his glasses, ( Healey last time )
He said i should write a book on taxation for the self employed

Re: What are you doing today??
Just booked 3 nights in Manchester in February. We are going to bring the kids to Old Trafford for their United baptism . Will be going to the United v Watford match. Not the greatest but those dates suited. Staying in the Ibis Hotel on Pollard St for one night ( included in match package ) and then 2 nights in an apartment on Laystall St. Think that might be Minty's general area. Flights were 79.94 euros for the 5 of us RETURN!!

Staycity Apartments is correct! Do you know if there is a bar in the Ibis hotel Minty? Also, am I going to need drinking practice before I get there? Bear in mind that I haven't had a pint in 3 weeks and it will probably be another 6 weeks before the next one!

Well I've been extremely busy making Macie a Willy Wonka chocolate bar with a winning ticket! She's going to dress up as Veruca Salt for her fancy dress at school next week!

Re: What are you doing today??
The Irish Genealogy website has just put online records more than 100 years old ( free of charge ). Today, I found out my great grandmothers maiden name was Gaughan ( pronounced Gaw-hann ). Now, I'm trying to trace her parents. Also found out that my mother changed the spelling of her maiden name to Shevlin. My grandad's ( her dad's) name was Edward Shevlane.

Boy, there were a lot of "Margaret Gaughans" born in the locality between 1860 and 1880. Don't know now how I can find the right one

Re: What are you doing today??
Feckin must be! Gaughan is a strong name in the area even up to now, but I can't figure out why so many of them were called Margaret. What was the name of the queen before Victoria?
