Just paid my local property tax ( equivalent of rates your rates ). Kents have increased it by 10% on last year. 346 euro. For that I get sfa 
I pay bin charges - 300, empty septic tank - 280, school transport - 650 for the older pair ( don't pay it, one of us drops and collects them ), school uniforms - 300, school books - 650. I have no street lighting, no footpaths, no public transport going by my door. I pay a "rural supply" extra charge on my electricity of 24 euro every two months. Library in Athenry hasn't had a new book since 2008. feckin' car insurance gone up by 85%. Health insurance by 40% ( both in last 2 years ). There are times I agree with a politician here who I'll paraphrase "Give the country back to the Queen and apologise for the balls we made of it"

I forgot to mention, 60 euro for Dr visit. 10 euro for prescription. Medication is capped at 144 euro a month, i.e. we pay everything up to that amount. You fecked here if you have asthma!
