I don't know what network it would partner with over here Trish, but if you google "EE roaming Ireland", it gives the costs of calls and texts ( 4.4p a min, not too bad at all) so I would say that you will be fine. Maybe just give them a call in case roaming hasn't been activated on whatever plan you have with them.

Re: What are you doing today??
see who has the best deal as regards roaming before you purchase the sim. Every call you make will be charged as if you are abroad, i.e. if you ring me, it will charge you roaming rates as technically, you will be ringing from a UK network, and if you ring home, it will do the same as you aren't in your home country. Double edged sword innit. The Lone Ranger wrote:I'll get the sim card at home, is that all right?3rdforum wrote:Make sure its unlocked if you want to use an Irish Sim card.Mcqueen wrote:Do you put them in upside down
And Reg, they are going to Ireland not Australia. Upside down indeed!!!!!

Stopped at M6 services and as usual I park where the coaches go. Its nearer to the building! Two vast buses complete with trailers pull up, Ireland to Romania route. Just drivers on one and about 6 punters on the other. Bad news Dermot! They like it there obviously.

feck sake! I thought we had seen the back of those buses. We had 30 buses a day coming at one time. Haven't seen one of them in years.

Only 3 plots left. Not for sale though as I need the space for boats, motorised projects, trailers, motorbikes and other assorted man stuff. Patsy would sell tomorrow though given the choice as she says she doesnt like living here. Where would you go then Patsy? Somewhere on a bus route. Must be the Irish in her. She drives a car by the way.
Today I am doing a new towbar on my van. Last one broke when I put a boat on it.

Re: What are you doing today??
Feeling quite chuffed with myself. I've just spent the last 6 hours getting my 3 e-mail accounts linked together so they all come to my newest laptop. (the one I gave you Reg). Should have been a 5 minute job but for the life of me I couldn't remember the password for one of them! I had to download some website that can find your passwords for you, but I'm a suspicious bugger so I ran them through some virus scan sites first! It all takes time.

Re: What are you doing today??
Been to the travel agents, €s bought, car hire paid for, (ended up £93 Dermo due to exchange rate fluctuation, and they stop €1500 on your credit card until you hand the car back... undamaged ) You get some code from the DVLA site to give the car company as well to prove you're not a bad 'un or something. API info from passports given. New EHIC cards arrived this morning. New credit card should be here on Monday. (Feckin' better be as I won't get the hire car without it! ) Tickets should arrive tomorrow at travel agents for collection.
Dermo, any pubs where I can here the Uilleann pipes being played? Can't wait to hear them live! I'm gonna put some poor fecker on the spot and ask him to play "Caoineadh Cu Chulainn"!

Re: What are you doing today??
That car hire/DVLA code thing, I recall us discussing it on here when it came out, I had it in the back of my mind when we were booking the car for our Ireland trip, never got asked for it, just thought seemed a stupid idea so possibly it's been dropped...

Re: What are you doing today??
thought it was only Spain that required that code?? I know afew pubs that has a better chance of uillean pipes being played but you must remember, most Irish pubs don't have music playing, mostly because its shite. Tourist pubs will put on any kind of rubbish and the visitors lap that shit up. I'll bring you to a couple of places that do proper stuff.
