Re: The doctors surgery
Just got a line for another 4 weeks off. My surgeon just got back from 3 weeks holiday today so he hasn't even seen my scan results yet. My doctor phoned his secretary up to push things along a bit so it's just more of wait until I hear from them...

Re: The doctors surgery
TOOK ONE OF OUR FOSTER BOYS TO SEE A SPECIALIST ONCE ON 27TH DECEMBER. Many people waiting 4 hours later no one had been seem and had been asking questions for ages and told he was delayed, it then came out we would all have to have new appointments as he had forgotten he was working and on the golf course, he would not make it as still had 7 holes. Re: The doctors surgery
Seriously though, there was a gynecologist in Galway who used to induce women into labour, so he wouldn't miss his fourball with the lads. This went on for years until a young nurse blew the whistle. The bloke had that much power over the other nurses that they turned a blind eye. His medical licence was suspended in Ireland so he is now in a job in the U.K.midlands somewhere.

Reckon a gynocologist would not appreciate taking them to a fish restaurant for a surprise.

Re: The doctors surgery
Letter came from hospital today..."We have received a letter requesting you to attend an out-patient appointment at the General Surgery out-patient clinic. Your name is now on our Outpatient Waiting List. Within NHS Fife we strive to achieve the nationally agreed target of a maximum waiting time of 12 weeks for an appointment, however, we are currently experiencing significant increase in demand which unfortunately may result in a longer wait to be seen in clinic..."
Another 3 months before I even get seen in clinic let alone the feckin' operation! I'm going to have to go back to work in some form or other or my wages will be halved. They diagnosed me as having this at end of May, CT scan confirmed it on 26th June and only now do they write to tell me I'm on the waiting list. What have they been doing for the past 7 feckin' weeks?

Just filled in a wee online form with BUPA. Waiting on them calling me back. I'll have to know how much it will all cost...

Re: The doctors surgery
We arrived back from Tenerife about 7pm on a Friday 24 July, Annie had been told to go to her own GP as soon as possible on her return to to the UK, so nothing was going to happen until the Monday, Monday comes we both go to our own Doctors, I'd twisted my knee a few weeks before I had to go out to Tenerife, the twist aggravated an old motorcycle injury from years back for which I was meant to have an operation for but couldn't afford to be off work at the time, so we both come back from the docs being told we had to go to the hospital to have scans done...
The next day I get a phone call from Manchester Health Care, Im given a date of 1st September, person on phone apologises for the wait saying I could have had it done quicker but my doctor had specified Manchester Royal Infirmary...
Almost "two weeks" later Annie gets a call from the same Manchester Health Care, they ask her which hospital she would like to go to for her scan, she names a local hospital, she's given a date of September 28th, she then says she is prepaired to go to any hospital to get the scan done as soon as possible, person she is speaking to says they will do a search of all Manchester hospitals and post a date out to her, she's still waiting on the letter...
Now I don't know how they work/prioritse these things, but I would say Annie's condition needs prioritising more than mine, I know exactly what is wrong with my knee, smashed up ligaments and cartilage, this was established when I done it,,, but although not having been told by the doctor I suspect Annie's MRI scan is to establish what damage has been done to her panceris and lungs due to her illness in Tenerife...

I had BUPA cover with one of my jobs, any time I made to have any treatment done through it, it was knocked back because my medical records showed whatever ailment I had it could be traced back to something I'd had in the past...

Pets and cars get better treatment, Something that could be serious is worth shouting about,
Serious stuff needs looking at sooner than later, Aches and pains in limbs we can put up with,
The NHS dont care about you, you have to

Re: The doctors surgery
£250 consultation fee. Then depending on whether it's a "low" or a "high" fistula, it's £2,380 for "low" and £4,080 for "high". The phone just went there and it was Victoria hospital, I'd asked them whether it was low or high but it was only a secretary, but she managed to find a surgeon who reckons it's a .............feckin' HIGH! Nothing will happen before Monday though and that will just be an appointment for the consultation. At least I know it'll happen sometime soon now.
