Re: Culinary delight thread...
Tonight we have cocktails at 1900hrs, then dinner at 1930 hrs. We're getting some gypsies in tonight at 2100hrs to do a bit of singing and dancing. (Bet they're all over 50 with big arses!). May have a couple of drinks tonight as we leave Budapest at midnight and head back up river. 38 today...too bloody warm!

Spanish, someone's birthday, me Annie and her sister out, fantastic tapas meal, a restaurant we've been in a few times, we then head Angel Pub, bit ad hoc live music (My mate Gary), Annie comes back from bar after buying a round with a glass of water for herself ??? next thing she disappears for ten minutes or so, comes back a bit white,,, she'd been sick as hell in toilet,,, we'd had prawns,,, huge chunky ones,,, it happens, had it once in a very expensive restaurant in Edinburgh, prawns for starter, instantly toilet, other end for me,,, I won't let the very occasional bad reaction to shell fish put me off, such a tasty dish, I hope it don't Annie...

Portrush,,, it was the day we visited the Giants Causway, we drove round the cosst a bit and stopped off at that bar/restaurant overlooking the harbour, were in the upstairs bar area, sitting next to us are this bling bling couple, looked as if there'd been transplanted from Marbella or the likes, as we're leaving a guy exiting the toilet gets in conversation with us going down the stairs, says something like "what's it like sitting with royalty", we ain't got a clue what he's on about, he goes on to explain its Darren Clark,,, we still ain't got a clue, so he further goes on to explain he's a famous golfer and starts giving us his life history,,, at the bottom of the stairs Annie, her sister and boyfriend exit the bar, I'm stuck with this guy ear bashing me about Darren Clark, history lesson over I exit the bar and join others waiting for me just outside bar door, Annie says, "bit star struck that one, Darren Clark this, Darren Clark that, by the way which one was this Darren Clark",,, I say pointing to a guy standing right next to her at the bar door having a fag, "him",,, there was no way he could not not have heard everything Annie said...

Haven't eaten since Thursday, I'm still not right but I don't have the pain, I'm just very tired and out of breath.

Never heard of "Stephen's" before but mince pies yes...
Seems it's a local company to Cam been going 144 years or so according to this...

Suspect he's on about one of these,,, staple diet at half time at a football match in Scotland, mince pie and a cup of Bovril,,, needed it to defrost the limbs,,, Bite in to mince pie, explosion of grease making a bid for freedom down you hand and arm,,, no panic, because of the freezing conditions it solidified before it reached your elbow, so you just scraped it off and ate it, waste not want not...

Most of this will be frozen so it's an easy heat up meal through the weeks to come, dozen or so portions there...
