I like chips but not with stew - you need dumplings

Well today Mathew it was Sunday roast, meant to be six of us, me and Annie, her daughter and boyfriend over from Ireland, and her son and girlfriend, then two of her daughters friends and a cousin turn up so nine if us, chicken and pork joint, roast and mash potatoes, boiled and roast carrots, steamed broccoli, cauliflower cheese, roast onions and onion gravey, had crackling off pork then coated pork with mustard honey and cloves, everything turned out yum, unfortunately no left overs...

Slow-cooked Scottish beef with creamed potatoes, panchetta wrapped green beans and mushroom and bacon gravy and a weird shaped carrot...

Chicken breast and creamed potatoes with haggis bon-bons, wilted kale and a whisky and thyme sauce. 8/10.

I'm Adam Mint wrote:Odd one tonight, just needed a snack as we'd both eaten earlier in the day, I was on Asda duty, thought a tasty snacky mussel dish, but they had no fresh mussels,,, so next snacky thing was fajitas, get a Old El Paso Fajita kit, pack of two chicken breasts, red pepper, onion and garlic, for a snack all that does two two nights, cooked it, thought that spicy, clearing the sinuses it was, now got to say I've never purchased the kits before its allways been Annie,,, we sit down to eat, fecking hell, taste was there, but on two scales, taste 8/10, spicy 1000/10, would seem Annie normally gets picture two, but because we normally get a pack of spicy sauce with it I got picture one,,, must rate as one of the must rate as one of the most spiciest things I've has despite dolloping loads of sour cream sauce on it, we had two figitas each, we managed to eat on hand a bit each, wine was getting gulped down like hell to try and douce the fire in our mouths...

We're having finger food...Wiltshire ham with Scottish plain bread and Red Caramalised onion on the side, 2 mini pork pies with pickle, baby tomatoes and a packet of McCoys ridged plain crisps washed down with a glass of milk.
