Friends took us away for the weekend as a gift for our 50th wedding anniversary, they took us to a hotel near where I was born in south Lanarkshire, it is called the Radstone and it is one of the best places we have stayed in,we have stayed in 5* hotels abroad but this place knocks them all into a cocked hat , the place was immaculate even though it was busy with weddings re-unions etc, the food was faultless and the service impeccable, the quality of the furniture and fittings was unbelievable, pure class, our bedroom was amazing the bedding,towels etc were great and the furniture ultra modern, we got invited to a wedding reception which really made our weekend, the brides uncle lives a couple of streets from us so we were made really welcome, all in all a fantastic weekend

Yep, just off the M74 junction 8. It used to be called Shawsburn Hotel but it was extended and completely made over. Never been in it though.

They do tribute acts at this time of year so we will be back next year for sure

Just been reading the news. Oh dear, Paul Gascoigne pleads guilty to using racist slur joke on stage and gets clobbered for 2k. Silly fecker. Not for saying it, for pleading guilty.  Forgot the rest of the news already. 

Just been station seeing a couple of friends off, two large glasses of wine and a basic pint of lager, I hand the guy a twenty pound note, he says £21:50,,, FFS...

Just off the phone with the tax office. Apparently, I didn't pay my preliminary Local Property Tax for this year and they are deducting it from the tax I am due back . Not only am I convinced I paid it, but I actually thought I paid it on the double so I thought I was actually a year ahead. I'm going through my bank records for all of last year to see if I'm right. 

feck it, no sign of that payment. I could have sworn on the kids lives I paid it.

 

Getting ready to go and pick up my sister to take her to Edunburgh for radiation treatment. Trish is coming too for moral support.

Brother in law is being taken to the cancer hospital in Newcastle today, He said to his wife (Janets) sister that their is nothing to worry about, I dont believe him,

Back home now, I took her out for lunch after her radiation and she ate a nice plate of roast pork, apple sauce and chips and veg. Dropped her off and she's away for a wee nap now.
When I was young I never knew anybody who had cancer. Everybody seems to have it nowadays! I think our parents must have hidden it from us when we were wee.

I'm off to take sister for 2nd dose of radiation. Laters...
