Well, the Brodie sleepover hasn't worked out. He went ballistic when we told him it was time for bed. He normally goes at 7pm, I left it until 9pm hoping he would fall asleep. His mum phoned saying "I take it he's a sleep?" No. "Right, I'll come and get him."

Got asked to tender for the HQ of the National Monument Dept of the OPW ( Office of Public Works). Sounds grand but it's just a large two story in reality.

Just got back, airport was manic, we had to fly around for 20 minutes waiting for a landing spot but the good thing was for the first time in my life we flew over the city centre, the castle Scottish parliament Arthurs seat etc it was absolutely wonderful to see, thanked the pilot , another great holiday but the place [Cala Bona] was deserted ,the locals say it's the tourist tax plus Brexit that is causing it ,I reckon a few businesses will fold this year as we saw places that were really suffering, need a holiday now as we had a ball

I stuck up the following post on one of the Tenerife FB pages. Most people got a laugh from it but Jeez, a couple of them need to have a root around in the attic to find where they packed away their sense of humour

[*]I don't care that the Chinese lady will be selling flashy things with bright lights that break after a day
[*]I don't care about the current exchange rate
[*]I dont care what the weather will be like next week, month or year

I cant control any of the above. What i do care about is having a chill out time, meeting up with some good friends, some good food, some good beer, some good entertainment and a lot of good laughs

Sorry D, the last thing I expected was seeing that beautiful sight , the flight path usually flies over our house ,well it did today but then went round the Pentland hills  and over the reservoirs and on to the city ,it was lovely and bright as well ,had a lump in my throat

I'd say it was a sight to behold. Probably the greatest city I've ever been to for photos. When I make enough money, we are going to buy an apartment in Edinburgh and one in tenerife, sell our current house and buy something smaller. Thats the plan anyhoo!

Me, Patsy and Jack are off to Tenerife on 21st June. 2 whole weeks this time. Only way to get cheap tickets it seems is to go for 14 days. Such a shame then.......

Plasterer coming tomorrow to put new plasterboard on my ceiling, skim it level and paint it. I've booked 2 nights B&B in Blair Athol to get out of the way! I think it's to rain the rest of the week though...

Well it's going to be triple now. I told him it had 2 layers with lath and plaster on originally. He says because it has been wall-papered it's easier just to add a new layer to get it flat... Don't be telling me scary stories now Dermo! Got an e-mail from plasterer 2 days ago saying plasterboard delivery won't be until lunchtime so expect him about 11:30am. Fine. This morning at 8 o'clock the doorbell goes. Yep, plasterboard delivery and he wants COD. I was in bed so Mermaid gets on phone to plasterer who in turn gets on phone to builders merchant. Apparently there is a D Scott Plastering and a D Scott services and they mixed them up. But now he is going to be later coming as he was on a job and had to stop to sort everything out, so we have to expect him at 12:30pm now. I was supposed to be taking Mermaid to the dentist at that time, so she'll have to get a bus now.

I have just been on the roof showing builder where the windows should be while talking to the plumber about shower size carsie size and where the door should be, I did say have you got your plan with you ? What plan he says ? FMR
