She really makes it come alive, doesn't she? We went towards Dundee but the TA traffic announcer thing came on the radio and told us the Tay bridge was down to one lane going north so we turned left just before the bridge and went down the South side of the River Tay...
Here's a picture of the Tay Rail Bridge showing the remains of the old piers when the bridge collapsed in 1879 (Tay Bridge Disaster)
Here's a piccy of Dundee from the south shore...
We then continued along the Tay and went into an organic farm shop for a gander...some nice stuff in there, but we decided to eat further on. Had a lovely meal, Mermaid Had Macaroni and chips, while I went a wee bit more upmarket and had steamed salmon. Lovely. Back in the car and took her to a small reservoir I knew about but had never visited and had a nice chat with an angler who was fly-fishing.
Saw this wee toad under an old rusty wheel-barrow...
After that we popped in to Dobbie's garden center where I bought a pair of pruning shears and a little ornamental Bluetit, 'cos Mermaid knocked the last one onto the mono-blocks and broke it... . Now back home and having a coffee...

Re: What are you doing today??
You had a better day than me, I decided last night that i had an hard wear problem , So i set to and and followed the cables back to the phone line, Checked every connection and sure enough came across a junction box that didnt look too clever, now as most of you know bt colours are red white green and blue, This lot was all wrapped round each other, so i cut back to fresh and started again, Bingo it came alive, Although this forum is still slow to load pages, but thats a soft wear problem, Nothing i can do about that, Its this budget set up we are on, Not enough something or other, While i had my electricians head on i went to Maplins for a remote door bell, Being a bit deaf people have to ring me from my own drive, I got one that sounds like a dog barking, Janet said i'm barking ?,
Cheeky mare, Then i was in the garage with a miss firing Toyota Yaris, I will wait until its dark and see if a coil is arking out somewhere, See it better when its pitch black

Re: What are you doing today??
OH and I went to Falmouth for the day despite it persisting down.
£20 petrol
£5 Park and Ride
£21 Maritime museum
£23 2 x Fish chips and mushy peas, tea and coffee (sit down)
Drove to the Lizard.
£1 car park
£12.70 Knickerbocker glory, plain ice cream with clotted cream on top, tea and coffee.
£1.50 Toll bridge at Saltash
£5 Tips
Total over £90! Too feckin late in the day to add it up properly.
FFS how does family of four afford to go out for the day in Cornwall? Believe me a lot of families were doing it because it was too wet for the beach. No wonder all inc. holidays abroad are so popular.
Mind you we enjoyed it! Will have to go work the streets tomoz to pay for it! May be gone for some time!

Mono-block can refer to:
- A type of air conditioner
- A monoblock LNB
- A mono hi-fi power amplifier
- In photography, another name for a monolight, a type of electronic flash with the electronics in the head, as opposed to a pack-and-head system
- A type of concrete paving stone used for driveways and hard standing

If you look at Mermaids picture you will see it is a pair of blue-ringed tits. Very rare up in the highlands.

Re: What are you doing today??
Well, I dont like to go on as you know, But this afternoon i was duped into wasting 4 hours of my life, A well spoken man rang and said i have a certain car and i would like yours can we do a deal. So not being one to let the grass grow i was off in hot pursuit of this guys wallet, He said he couldnt leave the house at the moment and would be ever so gratefull if i could breeze over and swop, Gets to Hallifax and this big stone house and knocked on the door, Feck me what answered Yes one of them complete with beard and pyjamas, Might heart sank, As soon as he started talking his mood had changed, What he wanted and what he didnt want, , I knew i was going to walk,
So i listened for 10 minutes and said you sir are wasting my time i'm off, Dont anybody ever say i'm a bigot or whatever, You really want to be in my shoes for a week and see what the hell go's on in the real world, To say i'm boiling mad is an understatement, Where can i get an early warning device because they are speaking better english than me. , Messing Bassa's
