Re: What are you doing today??
Recovering, won pub quiz last night so that was a free round of drinks, they also do a raffle/open the box, if your raffle ticket is drawn you get to pick a key and if it’s the correct key to open the box you get the winnings, if you pick wrong key funds roll over to the next week and so on, it was up to £429, we won, it was split between seven of us as the team pool our tickets, but still not bad, we have won it twice before, £297 split between three of us and £340 again split between three of us, a couple of weeks back my Scots mate was down and we won a £100 in the Monday night quiz raffle, then on the Tuesday only me one one of the girls turned up for the quiz and we won £72 in the raffle, beats working, but the hangovers arghhh...
Live band on in local tonight, beer, music, pool, womem, arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.......................................................

Re: What are you doing today??
Well, I was supposed to be going shopping for groceries today but when I opened the back door of the car to put our jackets in, it wouldn't lock again. It's like the mechanical catch isn't hooking over it's just staying open. I've had to tie it shut in the inside to the other door and booked an appointment with the Citroen garage on Monday. Phoned my boss to tell him I'm going to need emergency leave as I've booked it in for Monday.
Bloody car! Just spent over an hour getting inside door panel off and releasing the locking mechanism and taking window slide out but I can't get to the bit I need to see.

Yeah, I should be doing more but the Ryder Cup is on and I backed the U.S. at 6/4 on to win it. Won't be on much tomorrow either, the All Ireland hurling final is on ( Galway v Kilkenny). Its a replay after a drawn game 3 weeks ago.

Re: What are you doing today??
Been surfing the net looking for places to go to celebrate our wedding anniversary next month. Decided on a couple of nights in This Place
on the Isle of Skye. Cuillin Hills Hotel in Portree (the Capital, but it's just a wee place), never been to this hotel before but it looks quite nice and the scenery is stunning. Here's a view from front of hotel...
Got a deal through Easy-Breaks. £184.50 for two nights B&B. (£4.50 booking fee).

Re: What are you doing today??
Before i went to Tenerife youngest son Luke asked me to pick him up from his new work partners, Luke was going on a course for site management, Turns out his mate wasnt keen on being self employed, So while Luke was away he took the van back and begged his old job back, Luke now has no transport or job, They had a nice contract doing all the ground work on a new building site, No gang no job, To say i am a bit upset is an under statement, Janet has been doing all the paper work, Bank, Self employment stuff, Insurance, Plant hire etc, Employing desperate people and all that,
I'm Blady fuming, Cant just get somebody else because the contracts was in both names, Luke is upset to say the least, Best friend my arse, I dont resort to gangster tactics normaly but i really could the way i feel right now, I should imagine being new foundations on a new site nobody would be digging him up until i had left the planet, Bassa, Ney Fecking Bassa, Poor lad he had put an awfull lot of effort into his future, But as usual some twat scuppers it, Why ? Because he isnt cut out to do courses and be a boss, He's back digging holes for somebody who could be bothered,
Ooo i'm mad as a box of frogs,

Re: What are you doing today??
Jeez Reg, that sucks! You'd think his "mate" would have thought it all through before putting his monicker on it...I can well imagine Janet being fuming after putting all that work in. Luke has the right frame of mind to get work elsewhere I think. Good luck to him...

At least he knows who his friends are. Personally, I'd make sure of letting everyone know just what a tosser the other bloke is.

If the weather is lovely, we are talking October Gypsy . No ferry to Skye so not the same as when I went by ferry to Skye years ago.
