Re: What are you doing today??
We're just about ready to go out as we're having a wee boat trip over to Inchcolm Island on the River Forth. It's actually nearer to the Fife shore than the Lothian side but we have to go over the Forth Road Bridge as it is only from South Queensferry they do the boat trips. Amazing it's right on my doorstep but never been before because you have to book a boat! Looking forward to it and the weather is supposed to be quite good today. I'll post some piccies when I get back.

Putting down shuttering around the drive at the back and sides of my house. I only have stone chips down at the moment so I am going to concrete the lot. Busy couple of weeks ahead for me.

Get a cheap flight to the rock after and stay with Reg, on his own for a week.

While we're waiting for our ferry back, a wedding party arrives for a wedding in the Abbey. Checkout the two guys at 2 minute mark...

It won't be ready 'til 2016! They still haven't got the approach roads built yet, but they have started the tower foundations.

Macie is in her high chair eating toast soldiers after licking the butter off first. She has one in each hand and a piece of one on the tray...she's confused now.

Very busy with Macie ,I got a bit sun burnt as well while out playing in the playpark with her. I took her on the roundabout, swings, slide and see-saw what a laugh we had. Grandad got the keyboard out and as you can see, loved it.

Re: What are you doing today??
Left the little guy to playschool. He screamed when we were leaving. Came home and went outside to do more shuttering for the concrete. Around noon, I noticed water overflowing from the gully outside the kitchen window. Out with the rods to clear the drain. Used 10 rods ( 30 foot) with no joy. Went to the local builders providers to discover they were closed for lunch. Back home. Went again to the builder providers. They didn't have any more rods in stock. Went to two other places and finally got 10 more rods. Went home and tried again.Still no joy. Rang brother in law ( plumber) and he said to get more rods until I got to the blockage. Went off and bought another 10 rods and finally hit something solid. Next minute it was like "Old Faithful" with sewage shooting out of the vent on the septic tank. Opened tank when things quietened down. Tank full. Called guy to empty it. 250 quid. Still no answer to blockage. He put hose down the vent and sucked up a load of "shit" (pardon the pun) where the kids had put stones and twigs and toys down the vent . Finally, I was heading indoors when Eileen came out to say there was a big puddle on the floor of the hotpress. Clothes on floor were soaking. A pressure vessel had leaked. Water was pissing against the wall ( bear in mind its a timber frame house ). I was on all fours trying to undo the pressure vessel nut with my head on aforementioned wet wall. Put my head through the feckin wall. I was now looking at the floor of the boiler house which incidentally was also flooded. I keep some tools and equipment in there to make sure no damp gets at them. Everything in thre was sopping. Called a plumber who eventually fixed the problem. 200 quid all in. I'll have to reboard the wall and get a plasterer in to skim it. I reckon the day has cost me 600 euro.
I'd go for several pints now only I'm too knackered. Think I'll treat myself to a Chinese

Never used rods, always use a hose, stick it down till I hit blockage then wham, keep prodding but with water shooting at it.
