Re: What are you doing today??
I pick Lexie up from school on Friday, today i went in my Willy's Jeep complete with big siren on the front wing, well you should have seen her face I cant make my mind up if it was embarrassment or shock I came tearing up the road with it blaring out so all the kids are thinking WTF is this, then i pulled up and her mates said "Lex its your grandad
She climb in and we roared of still blaring out, she had just calmbed down and we stopped for the lolly pop lady at the next school, another girl recognized her so i gave it a blast lex went down to tie her shoe laces that didnt need tying I had a great time, I think Lex did too, well maybe

Re: What are you doing today??
Right so thats what you have bought then Reg, a Willys Jeep! Pics please. McQueen in a Jeep. Perfect.
Jimbo the classic Panda has been poorly lately. The little minx has cost me at least £20 in bits and many man hours. All started with key breaking in ignition switch. I managed to get the remains of the key out and found somewhere to make me a new one but when I put the bit of key back in so I could move it the ignition would no longer turn and also couldnt get the bit of key out again either. Grrrr. Ended up drilling the whole barrell out noting first I can get a new universal one off ebay for £7.50 which looked like it would fit in the hole. Turned out it was broken inside. Anyway I was left with the bit of ignition thingy that sits on the bottom of the barrell so if you turn that it should start as normal. Would it start? Would it feck! Jeez, many hours here trying to figure it out, decide in the end its nowt to do with what I have done but a coincidence so order new points and condenser. New points, condenser and ignition turned up this morning with postman so put new points and condenser on and bingo, it started. Tried it out going to surgery as I had to collect some pills for my ears and it was a nice smooth drive. Wish the bloody ears were that simple.............
Anyway Freddie will be able to use it to go to work next week save me driving him there as I have been all week. The clutch has gone on his Skoda, looks like about £300 worth as I dont have neccessary tools to do it. I keep telling him he needs a classic car not this modern shite you cant fix yourself and I think hes coming round........ Funnily enough nice old Seat Terra Vista sitting in my back yard, big enough for a mattress in the back...........

Re: What are you doing today??
That's the only problem with Aldi/Lidl, you have to shop twice as you can't get everything you need there and have to go to Tesco/Asda/Morrisons etc. as well!

Re: What are you doing today??
We're not so bad. The Tesco and Aldi stores are 2 min walk from each other. Also, the only thing we get in Tesco really, are the fresh bread baguettes and laundry liquid ( about the only thing cheaper than Aldi )

Re: What are you doing today??
I found out she tried to sell him in 1995...
"
In later years, Donald's daughter Gina Campbell also adopted Whoppit as a mascot for her own water record-breaking attempts.[12] These led to Whoppit's third high-speed crash.
In 1995 she offered him for auction, together with other Campbell memorabilia. He was to sell for about £60,000 but failed to reach the reserve and so remained in her possession.[14][15][16] The decision to auction off Mr Whoppit was a cause of acrimony between Gina Campbell and Donald's widow Tonia Bern-Campbell, which re-surfaced again during the recovery of Bluebird in 2001.[17]"

Re: What are you doing today??
Peterborough Hospital again. I was 15 minutes late. Usually early. Anyway saw TWO consultants, seems they consult each other so that explains why they are called consultants then........... My saliva tubes appear to be healing themselves and they are happy with my post-op performance so now I dont have to go back for 4 months. Yipee, well done NHS. I truly am a perfect specimen again.
