this is good news,Perfectspecimen wrote:Went to hospital Thursday. Suntan cosultant has a good exploration round gob and says I will get Mr Turner to have a look. Guess Mr Turner is head poncho. Anyway I am left sitting prone on the examination table for at least 10 minutes, all sorts of shite going through my head. Eventually Mr Turner turns up, older and wiser hopefully but its immediately obvious hes batting for the other side. I wont hold that against him though, yes, I wont be holding THAT against him! He has a good prod around and says its a blocked saliva gland, apparently there are numerous ones all around the gob. He says he can move it along, about the size of a pea, so nowt to worry about but they will cut it out anyway and have it tested. Phew. Thought the writing was on the wall a bit there for a mo but no, I can carry on annoying all and sundry for a bit yet.................

Re: The doctors surgery
Spent yesterday afternoon getting operated on. 2 hours it took. Jeez, it was only the size of a pea. It was nice and cool in there though, gave me some nice sunglasses so the light dont hurt my eyes. The surgeons assistant had hold of my bottom lip and I could tell she was tugging on it even though it was numbed. Today thats the bit that hurts, not where they cut. Think the stitches have dissappeared already but I have to go back on 20th July to get biopsy results. Bit inconvenient that, I had 18th pencilled in for a Tenerife trip. Have to make it a week earlier then I guess. Following week will be about £300.

Re: The doctors surgery
Hi everyone well after 2 months of worry I got the all clear for bowel cancer .
So scared I was , I got the test kit as we all do on 30 th March my 60 th birthday & did it , next thing another one arrives saying the first one was inconclusive . I did the next test which came back saying they had found blood in samples . Next thing appointment at the Friaridge hospital for a consultation, then a colonoscopy on Friday which came back clear .
Iv never been so scared for the procedure & results but they were good .
They told me a lot of people just bin these tests & some even do the tests get recalled go for the consultation then refuse the colonoscopy , I couldn't believe it .
These tests are free we need to make use of them all men & woman.
I was lucky but things could of turned out so much different .
Now let's get on with enjoying life x

I had a double ender earlier this year, lie down facing camera gear and down it went, swung the trolley round and up it went, all pretty straightforward , no sedation at all just held on to the air and gas just in case, tea and toast and on my way home , all clear by the way ,travel insurance reduction this year
