We've all just been sitting waiting on the call to say he's dead...
sorry Adam but that just made me laugh, "He's sat up asking for whisky and sausages ???". He is not giving up yet. It must be hard for Annie visiting.

As said that was a quick text I got from Annie yesterday when she was at the hospital, got the full story later, yip they have him propped up a bit and he was awake at times, and yip he asked Annie for whisky, think that will be a throwback to when he was in the care home, Annie had gave them a bottle of whiskey and asked them to give him a hot toddy at bed time, the sausage thing, they have a dish of water at his bedside with small pink sponges in it that they give him to sip, he thought they were sausages...

She's at the hospital now but I ant had an update as yet...

Just spoke with Annie, he's been bit more awake today, can't move himself around the bed has to be assisted, can't eat or drink, can't communicate, she asks staff for an update, they say he has responded to antibiotics now and the infection has cleared up, they are going to monitor him over the weekend and reasses the situation on Monday and if he is in the same condition look at moving him back to the care home ??????????????

He was kept ten weeks in hospital when declared fit enough to leave because they couldn't agree about getting him in to a care home, now he's in this state and they're talking about chucking him out...

This is just not right. Will the care home see to all his needs?. I don't think so.

If he goes back to care home it will be a diverent section, not independent living, basically a bed with tubes in him...

10 days or so since I last updated, he's still in hospital, yesterday and today they've managed to get him eating food,,, when I say food is mushed up stuff like baby food, due to this development there has again been talk of discharging him...
They have also been trying to give him physio to try and get him moving again but every time the physiotherapist turns up he's asleep...

Had to have my eyes tested today, gonna be a yearly thing because of diabetes. First she tested eyes, read out the whole card with both eyes. Perfect then, thought so. Then she put stuff in my eyes to make my pupils dilate. She said it would sting, it didnt. Flashlight photos of both eyes then. She said my eyesight will be blurred and sensitive to light for 4 hours. It wasnt. Didnt even need my new sunglasses on. Said I shouldnt drive, I did, its 11 frigging miles! Left the van in ASDA car park half a mile away. Far enough for me...........

Forgot to mention I got the old camera up the wotsit to see into the bladder on Tuesday. Doc says I've to go for another CT scan. I could see the live images on the screen and he showed me where my fistula was. He didn't like what he saw, I said "What's that white fibrous stuff?" "Dunno", he said. Feckin' encouraging answer that! The doctors surgery - Page 31 3025408739

The NHS is a shambles The doctors surgery - Page 31 1498946960 It wants shutting down and all the staff should be made self employed, cut out the chaff, then watch it flourish, Skint members to the back of the queue, that would cut out the hangers on and none payers,  Angry2 put me in charge and it would be running like a swiss watch in 2 weeks  The doctors surgery - Page 31 1483819851 Sure they may be the odd body knocking about but that should clear up eventully  The doctors surgery - Page 31 3275847336

Its the same as our health service. Too many spongers, creating delays for the ones that need help and most of all, too many chiefs and not enough indians.

Annie got a phone call from the hospital yesterday saying they have moved her dad back to the care home, don't know if that's good or bad news, upset her a bit...

Her oldest daughter went in to see him, phones to say they don't have sides on the bed, he kept trying to get up in the hospital but wasn't in a fit enough state to do so, it's been sorted...
