They start on the rooms at 7am! "Do not disturb" notice goes on the door. We go to breakfast at 0730 and by the time we come back, room is all cleaned, Superb service!

Bloody Basilica was massive! You don't have to be religious to appreciate beauty, it was stunning!

Re: What are you doing today??
Unexpected sightseeing tour of Paris...
Some years back with family we done a week on a canal boat somewhere about sixty miles south east of Paris, then for second week headed over to the coast neat Bordeaux, end of holiday were heading Bordeaux to Calais to get ferry back, I'm using toll motorways much against my wish due to the cost but need to make good time as we're on a pre booked ferry crossing as it's cheaper if you book in advance... Route is basically motorway Bordeaux to Paris, Peripherique (ring road) around Paris, then motorway again up to Calais, simple innit,,, lunch time comes along, we're a couple of hours south of Paris, I decide rather than pull in to a motorway services for lunch we'll pull off the motorway for lunch in a local village (gonna be cheaper innit),,, over lunch I'm looking at the road map just confirming our route (no satnavs back then), I notice from where we are there's a dual carriageway basically following the route of the motorway up to Paris,,, result, no motorway tolls... Suddenly were in the subberbs of Paris and a pretty rough looking area, would seem road were on didn't link on to the Peripherique,,, we did go under a runway of Charels De Gaulle airport with a Concord taxing above us and must have went over or under the Peripherique without knowing it... We're completely lost, map I had didn't go in to city road detail,,, wife's saying stop at a shop and buy a detailed map,,, we're in suburbia, shop windows are all shuttered up, it's rough as hell and she thinks these shops are gonna have a street map of Paris just waiting for a lost eejit to buy,,, I keep driving, I have a plan, it's now three o'clock ish, the navigator in me kicks in, if I keep the sun on my left hand side I must be heading north,,, therefore we should hit the ring road somewhere (hopefully), I continue ears getting sorer as we go, we're obviously heading towards the city centre as we're getting glimpses of the Eiffel Tower between bullrings, next thing we're negotiating the roundabout below, it was there we eventually picked up roadsigns guiding us on to the ring road,,, phew,,, got to admit there were thoughts going through my head a few times bloody motorway toll would have been a lot less than new ferry ticket.........
Bloody motorway toll would have been worth it even just to prevent ear bashing I was getting...

I don't know but it's crazy, it's a bit like pick an exit and head for it, no lane discipline or anything just head for it...
I first encountered the roundabout some years earlier, was on a coach doing an evening sight seeing tour of Paris, guy driving coach just waded in with cars having to brake or swerve to avoid coach,,, I took a bit more gentle approach to it...
