Re: What are you doing today??
Drove up to Yorkshire yesterday, Honley near Holmfirth, to get lots of new panels for my VW camper. Once off the motorway past Sheffield the scenery was magnificent, and lovely stone houses. So much nicer than bricks. Collected some second hand parts for my 'new build' kit car from Selston in Nottinghamshire on the way back. 4 wings, engine side panels, bonnet hinged down the middle and a radiator grille. £90 off ebay. Bargain. This will save many hours fabricating time! Only trouble is trying to make it so it DOESN'T look like a Spartan. Other bits I have sourced are a windscreen and hood with sidescreens from a very early MG Midget and some nice cream leather seats from a Ford KA.

Re: What are you doing today??
Was on a mission so wouldnt have had time. My VW LT Mk1 non turbo diesel can only keep up with lorries down hill FFS. Body panels were for its replacement, the smaller but similar shape VW T3 or T25 if you prefer. That has a 1600 turbo diesel in it, probably capable of a massive 70mph lol. At one point I was only about 20 miles from Leeds so you had a lucky escape Reg. Yeah, Johnny Cash. Sadly I dont work in a car factory, I'm into this to the tune of about £800 so far but its an ambition I have had for a long time now. Similar to the boat really which is nearing completion. Another ambition I have is to build a house totally from ebay auction purchases, it aint gonna happen unless I could go back 30 years.zdeekie wrote:We were at Sheffield yesterday if you had said you could of called for a cuppa XPerfectspecimen wrote:Drove up to Yorkshire yesterday, Honley near Holmfirth, to get lots of new panels for my VW camper. I will start a thread on the build (of the car) when I start.

Shower then up to the Church yes its still there so i walked past to the shop and got a paper and some milk,
It was heavy so Janet carried it back,
she was complaining about still being in her jim jams, I said you should get up earlier then it wouldnt happen, but its still dark you'l get nowhere layed in bed slack lass, get up and get busy,
when you have finished mopping the floors knock some toast up
