Used this junction 19 hundreds if not thousands of times, yip, bottleneck which brings traffic to a standstill, way to sort junction, flyovers, this 50 million bridge ain't gonna sort it, traffic is still gonna have to come to a stop at traffic lights,,, Fail...
And the problem ain't this junction, it's the lack of one between the M6 and M56 a few miles up the road, that's where it needs sorting...
Just saying, but watch this space...
So let's play a game, picture below is of junction 20 on the M6, one junction north of the one in the article above that they are just about to spend £50 million on modifying...
So your heading north on the M6 heading to Manchester, most obvious route, up to junction 20 and turn right on to the M56 and straight in to Manchester, simples,,, No,,, Same as when your leaving Manchester with a view of heading south on the M6, M56 then left on to the M6, simples, again No,,, reason, for some odd reason at junction 20 (M6/M56) you can go in various directions except the one most travellers want to use M6/Manchester or vice versa...
And why,,, some eejit when it was all being built decided the way to get people from Manchester to the M6 heading south would be to take them off the M56 at Little Bollington, then four miles down an "A" road, through Mear, 30 mph limit plus traffic lights at crossroads to join the M6 at junction 19 at Over Tabley,,, and vice versa in oposite direction, total bottleneck...
And what will this £50 million spend on junction 19 do to sort it, nothing,,, spend a bit more and sort junction 20 out as to how it should have been on day one...

I reckon some titled twat with influence owns the land where those exits/slip roads would have been and he/she refused permission...
