Ale trail again, that's jump a train to Huddersfield then work our way back stopping off at various villages to take light refreshment, fantastic day for it weathers great, on the downside it's not just a boys outing this one, wife's and girlfriends invited, well suppose you gotta let them out now and again...

Re: What are you doing today??
Fight fight fight round our way, Lad across the road asked me to look on camera about 5am this morning, Turns out a guy round the corner threw a dog turd at his house, said it was his dog that did it, I couldnt wait to tell him who it was He marched round there and came back with the guy in a headlock He got him by the scruff and ran his face through the mess,
I hate to see a grown man screaming, but i love to see a nasty feck get it,

The day...
Started off with the full english before setting off, yum...
Normally would get tram in to Manchester Victoria then a pint to start the day off pre jumping on the train to head up to Stalybridge (15 minutes) where we all meet in the Buffet Bar on the platform to start the trip off, but due to construction work at Victoria Station the trams ain't stopping there at the moment so you've got to get off the stop before and walk a bit, plan B, bus up to Aston Under Lyme, get train from there to Stalybridge (2 minutes), actually the second option overall is a quicker journey time.
Gets to bus stop just as bus arrives, great no waiting, arrive Ashton Under Lyme with twenty-five minutes to spare before train, I say to her you go in to pub opposite station and get the drinks in and I'll go get the tickets so we ain't fafing around trying to get them last munite, I'd checked the train times (13:07) on line and had also also noted price to be about eleven quid each, big queue at the ticket booth, so automated ticket machine it is, I've got a pint with my name on it at the bar, so no messing, up it comes on machine Asnton Under Lyme - Huddersfield £10:90, that's me, press the button for two, credit card in machine tickets come out, two of them, I'm confused, return tickets should be four... Shit, I've hit the wrong button, the return option was the one below the button I hit, eleven quid a ticket, ten pence more each, arghhhh, ok I join the queue for the only human ticket vendor... Eventually I get to the window, explain my cock up, girl say no problem I'll chance then,,, thought there would have been a song and dance, but no... She starts going through some process on the ticket machine, but it ain't having it, out comes the manual, times ticking away, queues building up behind me, other half's texting wondering where I am,,, eventually tickets pop out of machine, she says £1.40, I was expecting it to be 20p, but who cares, she hands me the tickets, two of them, I'm confused, I look at tickets, singles again not returns, I hand them back, manual out again it's round two on the computer, queue behind me's disappearing, probably missed their trains, I'm getting texted like hell, still no tickets, she gets on the phone, someone talks her through what to do, four tickets appear, result, it's 12:58, trains 13:07, nine minutes, other half's on phone saying she's going to give away my pint and head to station,,, no you ain't I'm on my way, one very quick pint, then drag her back to the station at a hundred miles per hour,,, caught train, two minutes we're at the meeting point, couple of beers there while we all congregate, then non stop express (20 minutes) to Huddersfield, we had a good walk around visited about five bars, noticed as we were walking in to one of them there was a bookies next door, wasn't my round so I do a diversion, three pound change in my pocket in to then roulette machine, came out with eighteen, result...
Jumped train back to Slaithwait to a bar we knew had a pool table, few games of pool then to the local chippy, we allways end up there, best fish chips and musshy peas eaten at the side of te canal, then off to another pub, bit of an organisational cock up there, we end up in two different pubs, we all eventually meet up in the pub I ended up in, we weren't leaving anyway, pub has a couple of guitars for punters use and one of the guys with us is one of those you name it I'll play it so we had a good singsong going by the time the rest arrived... Good few in there then it was time for a meeting, where next, next village down the line or back to Stalybridge where we knew there was a live band appearing in one of the local bars, the band got the vote, so off to the Q bar it was, now this always comes up as a quiz question, whats Stalybridge famous for ? Answer, having the bars with the shortest and longest names in the UK, the Q bar and the The Old Thirteenth Cheshire Astley Volinteer Rifleman Corps Inn...
