Re: What are you doing today??
All week people have been saying "I text you" So checked it out and the moby is paggered,
So i just rang Vodaphone and asked for a new phone,
Now i dont want to be surfing and all that, I just want a phone, You know - Hello and Goodbye,
Well i got through and said "I havnt got time for a speach i just want a new phone and i dont expect to be getting charged for it" So this guy says "Can i have your mobile number"
I just bleeding give the other one it or i wouldnt be talking to you
" How long have you been with us" he says WTF you have that on your screen in front of you,
"Oh yes he says - Blimey you have been with us longer than i have been born"
Good then i wont be paying anything
He said just a minute Mr Dixon while i have a word with the supervisor
He came back on and said we are giving you more minutes and unlimited texts, also lowering you monthly costs, Thank you for being loyal and have a nice day,
Obviously heard of me before

Re: What are you doing today??
Went to Wells yesterday to rescue Roys boat which had suffered a serious ingress of sea water. Used my dinghy tender which was half a mile+ away so took little outboard. Only got 50 yards engine stops, now drifting, no oars, they are in my car....... Anyway, turns out a sock has fouled the propeller. As I restart it boat moves too much sideways and half fills with water so now its a dash for the beach! Both soaked we make it without the need for actual fully clothed swimming and then set off with a dry boat again. Roys boat has water over half way up the engine and we spend some time baling it out with buckets. Also moved it to a different buoy so it sits upright when the tide goes out. Job done we set off in dinghy for the beach but engine wont start, this time theres a pink t-shirt wrapped round the prop! WTF, has Reggie Perrin been here? Then, just as we approach the beach we hit an underwater obstacle at speed so now theres a two inch hole in my dinghy.
This afternoon round two.......... Fibreglass repair kit at the ready. Have to take Roys injectors out to check there is no water in the top of his engine, we know its in the bottom cos the dipstick was under water! But thats easy enough to get out and stick some new oil in. Its my guess the batterys are fecked too but we shall see...... Anyway, no wind and bright blue sky, just perfect for messing about on boats.
Have a nice day, and if you happen to see two old gits in Wells harbour on a boat opposite the mobile home park swearing its us.

Re: What are you doing today??
I told the Harbourmaster who put it there and Roy 4 weeks ago it needed moving but did either take notice? No. So who's the dipstick? No sonar on my dinghy so its hard to spot semi submerged clothing. Hitting the steel poles at the end of the running moorings totally my fault though, I knew they were there somewhere, doesnt matter when rowing of course but that 1 horsepower Seagull engine can move an 8 foot boat pretty quick.......
