This morning I set off for Braintree on a mission with my trailer. Got 7 miles down the road towards Ely and at 55mph trailer parted company with car.    Fortunately it went left planting itself down an embankment full of nettles. Just waiting for son in law to turn up with his Range Rover which is fortunately functioning today (rare) to rescue it. My first thought was to whip the number plate off and leave the fecker there but it doubles up as a work bench so best I get it back. Look's like I'm getting old and compliant, I even informed the Police. It has an incident number, 231. Hmmm, hope the fine is less than that, almost bound to nick me?

My brother bought a second hand ride on mower. He got the loan of a home made trailer that had an 6 foot ramp on the back as a tailgate. He got my van to collect 20 miles away. He got the mower, tied in on with rope and set off. Got to his house half hour later with nothing on the back, no mower or tailgate . In hindsight, he remembered hearing a thump taking a turn beside a canal . Sure enough, when he went back, the tailgate was half on the road and half on the path and the mower now thinking it was a submarine in the canal . He took the tailgate and left the mower in the drink surprise surprise.

My caravan has a green button that pops up when its on right, also a clamp lever that grips the tow ball to stop it snaking about (Forget what the name is) and an idiot proof wire that you wrap around the towball in case it doe's come off,so pretty idiot proof,

After that I'll pay £5/month for Napster and listen to all my music through that. Never have to buy a CD again. Or. if you already have all your music on i-tunes you can play them through it.

It was the same trailer I had when I was round your pad Reg, very heavy and meaty. It has a big lever on the side of the hitch you screw in and clamp on the ball, then a button goes down to hold everything secure, except its not idiot proof obviously. I have now recovered it and its working perfectly so...........     No sign of any cops, it was out in 10 minutes. The little safety cable has long rusted away, same as the brake cables.    Most of the rotten floor boards are now lying in the ditch so its time for some TLC. I did take the camera but forgot to take a photo for posterity........
