Re: What are you doing today??
Mate of mine was in Manchester for a stag a few years ago. I got a text message from him. "You know Manchester. Where is the best area to go?" I sent them to Canal St. Next day, I got another message. "Had great time last night. Thanks for the tip"Adam Mint wrote:PM back to you...

Think it's as well I didn't go out, Thursday night party, Friday night party and my mates were meeting for the early Liverpool game (ones a scouser), then my plan was to meet up with them for the United game then on to somewhere to watch the 5:30 City match (the Slovakian idiot that broke my nose is a City fan), my locals a big United pub, landlord won't show a City game, they texted earlier to say they were heading to the Snooker Club to watch the City match,,, tempted I was to jump a taxi but Annie wants feeding and to be honest I'm still a bit rough...
And that Snooker Club was 24/7 365 days a year untill it was recently taken over, new owner changed hours to 8am to 4am seven days a week,,, personally I don't see the point of it shutting for four hours, rather inconsiderate of him me thinks,,, and no doubt them lot will be there for a good few hours after watching the match on the near cinema size screen playing pool,,, mmmm it is tempting...

Re: What are you doing today??
The guy who took over the place is actually ok, he's a young Romanian guy, very polite spoken, has spent a bit of money doing the place up, compleaty rebuilt the toilet facilities, revamped the kitchen etc, he actually does all the cooking, have a look at the menu on the link above, with the old owners you could get a microwave pie, microwave pizza or microwave chips...
The snooker club also has a team in our pool league and when league matches are on it is expected that the host pub puts on a spread at the end of the match, this lad puts on a very good spread, we also have individual and doubles matches throughout the year, either just 2 or 4 players playing the best of three games, usually there are a few team members go along to watch their mates play, first time one of these matches was drawn to be played at the Snooker Club he comes over all apologetic saying he didn't know the match was on (these matches are not on the main league calendar), he says he will russel up some food for us, we explain it is not expected to provide food at these matches, he still served up food and has done so for every match drawn to be held there, he weighs up how many of us are there and puts a spread on to match the amount, may just be a couple of pizzas and chips, or as it was for the doubles semi final when there was a fair number of us turned up there were two reasonable sized tables of various snacks, pizzas, chicken thighs, sausage rolls etc put on,,, plus he don't charge silly prices for the beer £3 a pint, that's cheap for city centre...
Oh and the best thing he done, got rid of the two grumpy old farts from behind the bar and got some decent totty in...
You hear a lot of bad said about Romanians but this ones ok in my books...
to him...

Been busy looking at flights to Tenerife for 22nd, Patsy has week off work and its her birthday. Cheapest so far is £79 each but its 6am........ Fingers crossed the Thomson ones will come down for that date although you can go this week for £69........ Or we could go somewhere civilised like Madeira even cheaper.

Macie is back at nursery today so I'll have to pick her up when she finishes at 11:30am. I'm going to take her to MacDonalds for lunch 'cos I haven't had one for ages!

Re: What are you doing today??
The cops have found Jacks motorcycle that got nicked last month. Norfolk Constabulary have solved last months major crime in Downham Market then. Got it going today. Just the ignition busted and fuel cap missing by the looks of it. Got the key working the switch okay after some effort but I need to resolder 4 wires to the back of it........ Suppose thats a one in sixteen chance of getting it right first time then.

Re: What are you doing today??
Mate got a old motocross bike stolen from his garage, reported it to the police, was back on to the police a few days later as there had been a second attempt to break in to his garage, about three months later he gets a call from the police to say the bikes been found, next day my mate goes to the privately run storage compound with a view of collecting the bike,,, company want silly money off him for storage, he says how can it be that much you've only had it one night, guy says no, 90 nights...
My mate worked it out, bike had been found the day after it was stolen...
Also the way the bike had been stored it had allowed water to get in to the engine and it had rusted/seized up, he decided due to the storage and repair costs it wasn't worth retrieving from the compound...
Think I'd have been having a bit of an argument with Mr Plod...
