Re: What are you doing today??
Priced 2 jobs today, got one of them. But, on way home, I checked my email and saw that I had a message from an ad I run every so often in the local paper. I didn't even know I had the ad set up for messaging. Rang the number that was left in the email and got talking to this lady. she wants me to give a quote to paint a long corridor in an industrial unit. So, i have to meet her there in the morning. When I got home, I ran a check on the lady's name. Turns out she is a director ( also the daughter ) of one of the biggest construction companies in Galway. I can't figure out why they don't have their own men/sub contractors doing this, but I tell you now, if I get the job, it will be feckin' blemish free!!

Re: What are you doing today??
Got that job. Starting 8am. The industrial unit is fecking huge. I have to do the double height foyer and 3 doors. Then upstairs ( which also have to be painted ) there is another smaller foyer and a 30 foot long corridor off that. I'm putting this one through the books as she said to me that then, she will have my contact details when they need other work done . She must have guessed that I did a check on her, cos she was assuming that i knew who the company was. Canny lady!

Find it a bit strange myself. The worst that can happen is that i don't get paid ( or i fall off the ladder )

Re: What are you doing today??
We were looking at an Vauxhall Insignia a few weeks ago( before i mentioned it to you Reg). The guy was selling it with a full MOT. I checked the DVLA website and it confirmed that the car had passed the day before. We stuck a bid in on it but didn't win ( Ebay). The following day, I got an email from Ebay saying that the winning bidder was a troll and as i had the 2nd highest bid, I could have the car for that price. I was smelling a rat so I went down through the seller's feedback one by one. I came across a response that said the guy was a fraud and to check a website they mentioned. turns out the seller was a traveller based near Peterborough with 36 previous convictions and 3 current court cases where he sold defective cars. I reckon he might have thrown the MOT inspector a couple of hundred to pass the car and was then selling on a pup.

Re: What are you doing today??
Turned out the winning bidder was one of the guys taking a court case and even though the seller had changed his username on Ebay ( several times), this guy kept tracking him down and putting false bids on all the traveller's cars, so that no one else would get stung.

Its a mine field out there I see at least 4 or 5 a day that are scams, I'm at work on shifts so leave me your mobile number, ebay remove email addresses, so then you get a text not a call with their strange email address, motor is still available please send £200 to secure it and i will arrange for you to view it, blox it never happens, you need to do all your checks on people before you leave the house, if they are genuine they dont mind sending a copy of their passports and a bill with the address on, the signs are its cheap, silly cheap,

Re: What are you doing today??
started that job in the industrial estate. there was 2 leather 2 seater sofas and 2 single armchairs in the foyer that I had to keep moving about. the daughter director of the company came in while I was moving them. " I must get rid of those" she said, "they aren't even ours". Well, who was I to refuse to help a lady in distress so I kindly offered to get rid of them for her. All they need is a good clean, no rips or tears or anything. They are either very dark navy or very dark grey or they could be black. . Anyway, they will be making their way to Chez Dermo very soon

Going to watch shona play a football match. She got walloped in the face year before last and it knocked her confidence. Seen signs lately, that she's coming back. She gave another girl a shoulder a couple of weeks ago that somersaulted her over the side line
