I've been a few Caribbean holidays including Barbados, never been Mexico, Annie ain't been either so if there's a good deal lets know, personally I don't like the long flights and can't get past Tenerife but let's know...

Well today Mathew I've got a bit of a sore head, always happens when we have a barbecue, must be the smoke...

So it's a shower then down the local to watch the match for me,,, unfortunately not such a good day for Annie, she got a call, her dads been taken in to hospital, suspected stroke, she's on her way there now picking up her sister on the way,  hospital were about to carry out scans to find out what's actually going on...
Since he got out of hospital/care home and back in to his assisted housing flat a month or so back he ain't been the same, they stepped up the care package with staff dropping in more frequently to check on him plus they now cook for him (mainly microwave meals) but he ain't eating them, Annie's been dropping in daily now for the past few weeks taking him fish from the local chippy as he likes that but when she dropped in yesterday with one for his tea she says he only took about four bites out of it, I hadn't seen much of him since he got out of the care home, normally we met up on a Saturday with him and Annie's sister, had a meal and a few games of pool, for an 82 year old he still played a very good game, matches between us tended to be 50/50, but now he don't want to leave the house, we dropped in to see him on Thursday night on our way to the quiz, I hadn't seen him for about a month, he was very frail looking, lost a lot of weight plus a bit distant as if he was on something, when Annie saw him yesterday she was a bit concerned and asked the staff to keep an extra eye on him plus asked them to get the nurse to drop in and see him, don't know as yet what went on this morning as to him ending up in hospital, but think there are going to be some hard times ahead...

Sorry to hear that Minty. It's a true saying "old age doesn't come itself". I hope he perks up again soon...

Hospital say brain scans show some "density" but they don't think he had a stroke, have googled "density" but aint much the wiser, they are keeping him in for observation...

sorry to hear about Annie's dad Adam. Not on here much so only just seen this. I hope he can get back home soon

Thanks T. We got news yesterday that he has been accepted for a weeks work experience at the National Aquarium. He is delighted as he loves exotic animals.

When I left school ,careers advise told me to start an apiary, I only got 2 Bs

Annie started to get suspicious something was wrong that Thursday we dropped in on way to quiz, he hadn't done the daily paper crossword, he done it every day but she noticed paper hadn't been opened, we took a paper in to him today, didn't even bother looking at it, but on way to hospital we dropped in at his house to pick up some stuff for him, phone, glasses, wallet, cloths, etc, when Annie gave him his wallet he told her to take it away, he felt it wouldn't be safe in the hospital,,, so some of the cogs are still working... Hospital still keeping him in for observation...

My dad is about the same age. We noticed last week that while he still buys a paper everyday, he doesn't read it anymore. He used to read it cover to cover. Same with regards to watching the news, he has just stopped. I wonder do they feel that the world is just travelling too fast and everything is going over their heads?

Today I have been building a walk-in wardrobe. Its a bit bigger than my bathroom in Tenerife, and the balcony.
