Re: What are you doing today??
My old one was on brick pillars like that but it was steel and held 2500 litres, I never used to put more than 1000 litres in at a time though. Buggers come in the night and syphon it out hence new one is right by my back door where the dog sleeps. Current price in UK is £336 a ton, about half what it was last year. Those boilers are now over 2k, jeez.

We were looking at a place on off Dalry Road on the west side of Edinburgh but this place was only 25 quid more so the kids wrecked me hid for the last half hour until I gave in . I was going to book it anyway but its good to string them along for a while

We go for 2 little breaks and the main holidays each year ( if funds allow). This apartment costs less for 3 nights ( even allowing for strong Sterling) than the 2 nights we spent in Clifden last weekend. On top of those breaks, we go down to Kerry @ 3 or 4 times a year ( to my Dad's house), but normally there is work involved in those trips so I don't know if they count

Re: What are you doing today??
Looked at them flats when they were new, was looking at it as an investment, thank feck I didn't go ahead with it, property crash hit a few months later, prices dropped by £200,000, folks who had bought pre the crash were well pissed off, was a lot on the net about it, some of the smaller one/two bedrooms flats were being snatched up by investors, you were getting two or three for the previous price of one...
Strange thing was the car parks after crash, Porches etc obviously belonging to the ones with money who at a guess I would say bought pre the crash, and scruffy Ford Fiestas probably owned by those who picked up a bargain or rent...

Re: What are you doing today??
A few years ago, during the property crash, my brother's pal bought 3 semi-d houses in a town where MBNA Credit Cards had their European HQ ( providing 1600 jobs in a town of 6000 people ). Yer man bought the houses at auction. Guide price was 75000 each, down from their previous high of 200 grand. He ended up buying 3 house for a total of 125,000. Delighted with himself, he brought the brother down to see them. "What are you going to do with them" asked Jim ( my brother ). "I'm going to rent them to the MBNA workers" says yer man. "You haven't seen the paper today then" said Jim. There was a headline on one of the inner pages "MBNA bought by Spanish giant, Avantcard" "Irish Subsidiary To Close". The same lad has been sitting on them for 4 or 5 years now, can't sell them, no one to rent them to. Houses going into disrepair.
