Re: What are you doing today??
Wheel bearing went in the back of my transporter for the 2nd time in 3 months. Will prob sell it. I had money put by to build a steel workshop, 10m x 6 at the back of my house. Thats prob going to go on a new van now. Wouldn't mind, I just replaced the timing belt this summer, but its costing me money at this stage and i need something bigger. Been looking at VW Crafters and MErc Sprinters but any ones in my budget have crazy mileage on them. Have got my eye on a very clean looking Transit LWB from 2015, 150000 miles on it and the guy will bot it through the MOT first. There is better value in the UK but I cant travel cos of covid.

Well that's madness any business expense is tax deductible, you dont see big companys running heaps
lease one then thats a cheaper alternative, its not a good look when you roll up with a wheel missing
first impressions and all that

They send me a voucher for a £25 MOT every year. Also 10% off any servicing. Keeps me going back I suppose. Win-win.

Had our first meeting of "the Bitacora Buddies" this year we met at the Steadings at Hillend for a change , nice lunch and a good old catch up, unfortunately Ken and Morag were not there as Ken is having a bad time just now health wise, meeting again next month to finalise arrangements for January

Sorry to here that Dermot the Tenerife government covered you for everything whilst you were there if you were staying in hotels or apartments( in order to boost tourism )but would not cover us mere property owners that Put money into the country in the first place.3rdforum wrote:Cancelled our trip to Tenerife for end of next month

Re: What are you doing today??
yep. Masks travelling anywhere from now on. Our biggest concern was the fact we would have to isolate 2 weeks on return. I can't be away from work for 4 weeks and Eileen, as a nurse, certainly can't . I'm now hoping to move the flights to next summer and book a nice apartment . Pisses me off, cos , our apartment for next month was opposite San Telmo. We have never stayed in a place in that good a position before.

All good on our TUI flight ( I suppose they had to after the Zante flight )if you didn’t keep them on the Turkish police were informed & they dealt with you at your destination.

Re: What are you doing today??
Yes! I went out to fill the bird feeders this morning and I saw a Great Tit at the fat balls! Usually it's starlings, jackdaws and pigeons eating everything (and next doors 4 chickens, I give them mealy worms), but lovely to see a Great Tit at the feeder. Hopefully more of the smaller garden birds will follow suit.
