Re: What are you doing today??
Garden waste bins got emptied today. I usually bring in the 4 round our bit. Took in 3 and went back for mine and felt a bit heavy, looked in and still a 1/3rd compacted on the bottom. By this time bin lorry is at far end of street so I'm legging it down the street after him with a bin in tow with me slippers on!

Re: What are you doing today??
Just filled the bird feeders. I need more mealy worms, nearly at the bottom of the bag. They're the most expensive. I get a big 4 1/2 Kilo bag of bird seed for £4.50 yet dead mealy worms are about £12 for a bag a 10th of the size!

Just changed front brake pads on Freelander. They were making scraping noises. I can stop using the handbrake to slow down now.

Re: What are you doing today??
Cleared up the leaves that had fallen yesterday, it's getting a bigger job every day. Watched Angus the big ginger tom from next door come into my garden and spray my plants just to let them know they're his... Roxy, the kitten came over walked straight along the back fence and over to where I keep my wheelbarrow and commenced a staring contest with the 4 chickens on the other side of the fence. No sign of Jasper, the 3rd cat yet...

Some do dermot but not this one. The missing bits are there in no jacking points on the off side. Rather than repair them they just welded over the gaps.
The thing was ok and I made him an offer and walked away.

Re: What are you doing today??
The spare wheel is under the front, behind the bumper. Mechanism to release it is probably rusted solid but you wont know until you get a puncture lol. Its in the same place on the later more square shape model that I have. And no I aint tried to remove the spare yet. About 6 months ago I jacked up the rear of mine and the suspension arm collapsed into the body. It is awaiting attention, and much fabrication and welding. I may or may not live long enough to get the bugger back on the road but it goes up in value day by day so who the feck cares? How many thousand was he asking Reg? At least it hasnt suffered the suspension lowering syndrome most of them have been subjected to. Makes them look ridiculous.
Managed to get petrol lawnmower going today. Think fault is a sticking float in carb. Before discovering that I cleaned out fuel tank and bought a little plastic fuel filter from a shop in Downham Market (they still have proper shops there) £4.60 ffs. Same thing on ebay for £1.80 including post but i was desperate, grass about a foot high lol. Sharpened blade as well and grass now successfully cut.
Having put new brake pads on Freelander they were binding. Turns out pin that caliper slides on was seized in hole. Managed to get it out with WD40 and blow torch and cleaned and greased it so now working.
