Just back from vets - another €50 odd for annual jabs - it has been an expensive week and only halfway through

Re: What are you doing today??
I always end up with estimated bills, all over estimated, have given up trying to phone them, my phone contract does not include premium rate numbers, was costing me almost a tenner by the time I got to a human being who could amend the bil, automated system no good to me as I seem to have an odd electricity meter that their automated system dont recognise, so got to piss around with their automated system untill you eventually get the option to speak to a human, then your the hundred and something in the queue...Mcqueen wrote:Phoning energy companys, What a shower of incompetents
Solution write correct meter readings on a piece of paper, staple it to the estimated bill, and send it back to them in the envelope they provide for payment, costs the price of a second class stamp...

Re: What are you doing today??
You should deduct the cost of the stamp . My leccy provider reads the meter twice a year and estimates the other bills, but I can also input an actual reading online.Adam Mint wrote:I always end up with estimated bills, all over estimated, have given up trying to phone them, my phone contract does not include premium rate numbers, was costing me almost a tenner by the time I got to a human being who could amend the bil, automated system no good to me as I seem to have an odd electricity meter that their automated system dont recognise, so got to piss around with their automated system untill you eventually get the option to speak to a human, then your the hundred and something in the queue...Mcqueen wrote:Phoning energy companys, What a shower of incompetents

Re: What are you doing today??
About four years back I was certain I was over taxed, I calculated it to be approx fifteen hundred pounds, wrote to tax office explaining situation, ended up in endless correspondence, them wanting this document, that statement, etc, etc, often they were asking for documents I had already provided, went on for about a year, I eventually just gave up on my pursuit of a rebate...Adam Mint wrote:You wish...3rdforum wrote:finished the tax returns. now awaiting letter to say i underpaid.
Then a couple of months back I start getting bombarded from three different tax offices for unpaid tax demands totalling almost four grand...
I had a rough idea that it related to the same issue where I had sought the tax refund, they seemed to have somehow overlooked the almost five grand tax paid four years ago at the time of the transaction, despite the amount of correspondence re my bid for a tax rebait surrounding it...
They now accept tax payment was made on transaction, but say calculation was wrong, and are asking for various documents relating to the transaction, I never saw these documents as transaction was dealt with via solicitors, I am now in process of trying to source relevant documents, some of which my solicitor has, and the awkward bit being, some is with the company the other solicitor was representing, I have even contacted the company direct, although being professional about the issue saying the documentation has been archived, I don't think it's on the top of their to do list to find it, the annoying thing is, the tax office have enough information at hand to say the tax calculation is wrong, but they will not correct it, all they will say is once recalculated, it could either mean I am still in debt to them or may be due a rebate,,, rocket science that innit...
Do we have a banging your head on a desk smiley...

Re: What are you doing today??
Wednesday, first night I've been out since you know what, was pool night plus my Scots mate was down, for you's that can't recall my mates job brings him to Manchester every week or so, got a very good job, us tax payers pay for it... Anyway, last time he was down was two weeks Wednesday, he's signed for our pool team and will stand in if we're short of a player if he's down, well two weeks ago as said he was down, pool nights always a big night in the local, teams tend to meet there before and after matches and it ends up a pretty big night, well when the local shut we went on to another bar for a few to celebrate our defeat, oh, by the way we (the team), and me won tonight,,, again anyway, last time he was down after the local shut we went on to a bar that served a bit longer, I can just recall getting home, next day was not good... Tonight he says, not having a big one, he always says that, then has three or four last pints......
But fortnight ago he gets back to his hotel, wakes up needing a piss, up he gets , opens the door, and couldn't find the piss pot, twat was in the corridor, oops, wrong door, he's got no swipe card to get back in to his room, so down to reception it was, sad part of story,,, twat had his boxers on...

Re: What are you doing today??
My nephew just called, Today he was in court for speeding, He drives a Jaguar XK RS or something like that He pleaded guilty and sent his licence in, Turns up at court and the prosecution said case thrown out for the police driver exaggerating, Said it sounded like a novel the way he put it across, so cant believe a word of it, Nephew said he came down the slip road sraight into the outside lane, about 90 mph, a volvo sat there so he was about a yard behind him to bully him out of the way, in the meantime a plain police car was watching all this, Volvo move so he floored it to what he thinks was 130 plus and the cop car couldnt keep up, Put his hands up when questioned later, not guilty case dismissed, Jammy or what,
Hey people we dont think speeding is clever, speed kills, Be carefull out there
Yeh XK RS i just googled it. light blue too
