Oh, shame that. Never mind, I'll tell them about the sun beds on Las Vistas then.

Best one of the 3 hobbit films Kev. First time I saw a movie audience stay absolutely quiet for the credits when they came up at the end. You could have heard a pin drop.

Re: What are you doing today??
Been coming here for more years than I care to remember and have never had a drink in La Paz strip until today, on our way home Val suggested we go for a drink and the strip was the nearest, have passed the Highlander a thousand times so in we went, at the bar I asked which beers they sold and settled for a Hieneken and Val wanted a glass of rose wine ,no problem , the Wine looked like Irn Bru and when Val tasted it she said it was so sweet that it was undrinkable, so she took it back and told the barmaid who replied that if she wanted anything else she would have to pay for it , we were charged 7 euro originally and as Val said there was no way she was paying for more stuff that could be just as bad, totally ashamed of what they might call customer relations , will we be back??? no danger.

Re: What are you doing today??
Yesterday we had a fabulous day, the weather here was crap as it has been most of the time so we jumped on the bus to El Medano where it was lovely, we had a drink or two in the surf bar where we met a nice German couple with the most beautiful golden retriever and then went for lunch in one of our favourite restaurants Familiar it is called and of course ate too much and had a nice time talking to a couple of Italian chaps then had coffee in the cafe next to the bus stop before heading back,[ Familiars coffee machine was down] last night after dinner we ended up in the Dublinner who have a great young singer at the moment and that was us till 1 am ,as usual the food here is magic I have been giving carbohydrates a miss since arriving in an effort to get into my dinner suit for the cruise and have been eating mainly meat at night and it has been super , fillet steaks, roast sirloin ,lamb cultets etc etc this is a carnivores paradise, don't think Reg would like it much

Re: What are you doing today??
Learnt about how the social system works today....... Now I am taking daily meds these cost me €33 in the Farmacia so I huffed and puffed and showed my pensionista card. Oh get a repeat from the Urgencies opposite the bus station the tablets will then only cost you €3.
So today I went, big signs bring translator if you don´t speak Spanish. OMG .... So I take my ticket, wait my turn and then ask "prescripción para éstos por favor" and flash my card. She clicks away on her computer. You don´t have a doctor here she says in perfect English, this is Los Cristianos which is different to Arona. You need to go up to Arona town and they will give you the prescription.
So at least I now know that I am in the system and it is just a matter of getting up to Arona, hope they are as helpful. It is amazing what a smile and an attempt at the language will get you.
Still should be grateful been here 9 years and this is the first time I have tried getting to see a doctor. (unlike you sickly lot

When you say you were in the Dubliner were you at ground level or down stairs, the Dub is down stairs and the Gaelic Corner up on street level, 1am sounds a bit early for the Dub to shut, normally about four plus normally has a group on,,, was in the Gealic Corner a couple of times when we were over, solo guy singing was good, done a bit of everything not just iIrish stuff...
