That purple lit bit at the top of the Camera Obscura building. Its a tight squeeze, ( for me) but you can get around to the right hand side ( as we see it in the photo) and get great shots of both the royal Mile and the Castle Esplanade ( to the back of the photographer )Campbell Brodie wrote:Top of the Royal Mile and Camera Obscura.

My aunt , who had a stroke a couple of weeks back made a lazarus like recovery nd retained all motor abilities and speech etc, though she was frail anyway. She was discharged home on friday. She died this morning.

Netting lets the plant breath and stops them blowing away

Re: What are you doing today??
Tidied up all the leaves and twigs scattered all over by yesterday's storm. I'd moved some of the taller plants behind the patio set to shield them from the winds. Got off pretty lightly I think. Won't need to water them for a few days anyway!

Re: What are you doing today??
wENT TO AUNTS FUNERAL. tOOK EILEEN'S CAR, WHICH, yet again, had feck all diesel in it. Had to get fuel before I hit the motorway and that took 15 min cos of queueing and covid restrcitions with only 3 ppl allowed in shop etc. That meant i was now late, so put the boot down and got to the church bang on time. Spotted Jim , my brother, and joined him . He told me that my uncle Vincent had a job for me. I assumed it was to carry the coffin. Anyway, the mass went on and I was zoned out. The priest then called time for the "prayers of the Faithful", 4 verses with a chorus inbetween ( or response or whatever the feck its called). I was wondering how the painter painted the vaulted ceilings. Everyone turned round looking at me. Wtf?? So I put out my hands and shrugged my shoulders. Jim, my lovely brother, was just about keeping it together. My aunt, sister of woman who died, had to come down from front of church to where I was halfway down, to say that I should be up on the altar, reading these feckin prayers. WTF?? I said, nobody told me!!. Jim at this stage was feckin snorting trying not to laugh out loud. I went to the altar, passed the chief mourners, my uncle Vincent was pissing himself saying, "did you not get the message"?? Yes, I said, but I just decided to be a dickhead. That set the mourners off, I went up to the pulpit, was fiddling with my face mask and stumbled a bit. finally, I got to the microphone and could barely read the feckin hand writing, I was reading and bringing the page closer then farther away , holding it out to the side , while at the same time leaning into the mic. FFS!!! ThenI had to carry the coffin and I was in the middle, but the lad opposite me was 6'2", so when we went down a few steps, the coffin lifted off my shoulder, but , being a true stalwart, I held on, but I think my feet were going like a hamster on a wheel FMR, what a day
